The Regeneration Centre of Excellence, regenWM, launched on 3rd July, provides another significant opportunity to raise the quality of regeneration practice across the West Midlands by:

  • Actively contributing to a culture of learning, risk-taking and aiming high
  • Sharing excellent practice
  • Providing information and expertise to practitioners
  • Influencing policy makers and providers of training and development

Birmingham CAN! exhibited at the launch to publicise the Commissioning Guidance and promote the projects funded by the programme, which illustrate how people-centred regeneration can be achieved. We hope that regenWM will capitalise on the good practice illustrated by these projects to ensure that regeneration funding in the West Midlands is used to improve the lives of those people who have traditionally missed out on the social and economic opportunities provided by large, economically-based regeneration programmes
